{"id":14,"date":"2020-01-17T16:15:57","date_gmt":"2020-01-17T15:15:57","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/1943.pl\/en\/?page_id=14"},"modified":"2020-08-03T12:50:50","modified_gmt":"2020-08-03T10:50:50","slug":"mission","status":"publish","type":"page","link":"http:\/\/old1943.mobilems.pl\/en\/mission\/","title":{"rendered":"Mission"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>MISSION STATEMENT<\/p>\n<p>To disseminate knowledge about the life, struggle and extermination of the Polish Jews in the Warsaw ghetto and other ghettos of the German-occupied Poland.<\/p>\n<p>VISION<\/p>\n<p>To create the Warsaw Ghetto Museum\u2019s permanent exhibition in the renovated buildings of the former Bersohn and Bauman Hospital, to collect archival material, artefacts and testimonies, and to draw on the conclusions, experience and resources of Polish and foreign institutions engaged with subjects related to the history of the ghetto.<\/p>\n<p>STATUTORY TASKS<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Establishing a research base for the development and dissemination of knowledge of the history of the Warsaw ghetto;<\/li>\n<li>Creation of an exhibition space and a research institution with the aim of inspiring reflection on the Warsaw ghetto history, with references to: the history of Jews in Poland, and in particular in Warsaw, the fate of Jews and their extermination during the Second World War in Warsaw and beyond, within the territory of the Nazi Germany-occupied Poland, and the post-war lives of Jews in Poland;<\/li>\n<li>Consolidation of activities undertaken for the purpose of protecting and preserving the cultural heritage of Jews imprisoned in the Warsaw ghetto;<\/li>\n<li>Undertaking initiatives involving the renovation and regeneration of monuments related to the history of the Warsaw ghetto;<\/li>\n<li>Conducting cultural, research and educational activities related to the history of the Warsaw ghetto;<\/li>\n<li>Initiating and supporting social initiatives and non-governmental organisations contributing to the protection and commemoration of the Warsaw ghetto history;<\/li>\n<li>Preservation of the memory of the founders of the historical Bersohn and Bauman Children\u2019s Hospital and of the nineteenth century Jewish community of Warsaw.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>MISSION STATEMENT To disseminate knowledge about the life, struggle and extermination of the Polish Jews in the Warsaw ghetto and other ghettos of the German-occupied Poland.
